Scott has been growing and nurturing a loyal client base for 30 years during his time selling cars. He was born into a family with a strong motoring heritage in Tasmania. Scotts father Max was a respected motorcycle and car racer. He was the only Australian, whilst riding a Manx Norton 500, who successfully passed Geoff Duke ...for the race lead ...whilst Geoff held the mantle of current World Champion .....this was achieved during the Australian Grand Prix held at Longford, Tasmania. Max ended his tarmac career at the helm of his Cooper Bristol bob tail sports car ex Jack Brabham, whilst hill climbing. Observed motorcycle trials was his last competitive stance. He was the Kawasaki motorcycle and Maserati car distributor in Tasmania. In his motorcycle retail store located in Hobart, Max was the approved reseller for Norton, BSA, Velocette, Triumph, Laverda, Maico, Cotton, AJS, CZ, Montesa, Bultaco, Ossa, Hodaka, Italjet and Suzuki. He loved and was amazed by anything driven with fuel !
Scott himself went on and made his own career as a professional motorcycle racer in Australia. Racing for Kawasaki Australia, Matich Pirelli Racing and Suzuki riding superbikes and production bikes in sprint and endurance races. A definite high point was riding in Japan in the Suzuka 8 Hour Endurance race, which incorporated the World Endurance Championship. After 10 years in retirement he was provoked to race again in a new discipline known as Supermoto. This sport is based on a motocross bike with maximum engine modifications, road racing slick tyres, suspension and brake set up as per superbike, on a circuit comprising of 50% dirt and 50% tarmac ! After riding for Yamaha Australia, Scott was then invited to ride for the Husqvarna factory team in Belguim, at a round of the World Supermoto Championship in 2003, he then came back to Australia and rode for Husqvarna Australia in the Australian Supermoto Championship...... all of this achieved in his 40's . Scotts wife Pam decided .......he should call it a day ! Now in his later years Scott competes in observed section trials of which he was an Australian Junior Champion .....known as the violin players of motorsport ! He enjoys this with his daughter Hilary ....the motoring passion is being passed on to the next generation again ....we hope ! Motorsport has given the family a true understanding of mechanical empathy for chassis, engine and suspension components. The complete vehicle has to be perfectly prepared to survive the rigours of competition. There is and old racing saying " to finish first , first you must finish !" From this experience a passion was born to prepare in great detail all things mechanical !
This family history has provided Scott with all the necessary skills to hand pick quality used vehicles and provide a network of trades people that truly know there craft and can be of help for any clients that may need their motoring support in the future.
